Affordable Water Table Wedding Photos of Lizzie and Jeff in Virginia Beach

Lizzie and Jeff got married at the The Water Table in Virginia Beach on June 3rd, 2017. Jason and I had a great time with Lizzie and Jeff, families and friends at this absolutely gorgeous wedding.

From start to finish it was perfect. There was, however, one casualty at the wedding. Lizzie dropped her phone into the water while getting into the yacht leaving the wedding. She handled it well though! She’d had the case made from one of the engagement photos I’d shot of them. Bummer!

I can’t say enough good things about the Water Table in Virginia Beach. It’s an absolutely fantastic venue for a wedding. Deb Davis has got it going on and it continues to hold my number 1 favorite rating.

Affordable Norfolk Zoo Wedding Photos of Amy and Ben

July 29, 2017

Amy and Ben got married at the Norfolk Zoo on May 13th, 2017! I shot their engagement session last year at Granby High School where a big part of their theme was “Lois and Clark” (which is the first photo you’ll see below). The wedding had quite a bit of Lois and Clark theme to it and they pulled it off wonderfully. This was a great crowd of “Academics” for lack of a better term. VERY SMART people would be the overall description of the crowd.

Jason 2nd shot with me on this wedding and he played around with his 20MM lens throughout the wedding. That was a fun experiment. He was able to grab some great wide angle shots which added greatly to their coverage.

The Norfolk Zoo is a great place for a wedding! I’ve done a few there in the past and it’s one of those venues you don’t rattle off on a mental list when you’re thinking about it until you get reminded by being booked to shoot there. It’s a fantastic place with tons of interesting places to shoot.

The First Lady of Suffolk Wedding Photos of Laurian and Walter

This was my first experience shooting wedding photos at The First Lady of Suffolk . I have to say that I was extremely pleased with this venue. I love places where I can employ my love for cinematic portrait lighting, and this place falls right into my “comfort zone” with doing just that. I had an absolute blast doing The First Lady of Suffolk Wedding Photos of Laurian and Walter. These two remarkable young people were up for anything, and I know they’ll be hanging some of the jaw droppers I was able to capture of them at their wedding.

Laurian and Walter are both US Army officers, and I didn’t meet or have any contact with either of them until I saw them at the wedding. All of the arrangements were made by Laurian’s Mom (who did a FANTASTIC job).

The First Lady of Suffolk is an little gem that I hope to visit again soon. There was definitely not enough time to explore all the ideas I had once I walked around the venue a time or two.

Beach Engagement Photos of Kathryn and Alex in Virginia Beach

Kathryn and Alex decided to have Beach Engagement Photos taken at one of my favorite locations. I have 3 favorite locations in Virginia Beach. (So, when you hire me, I’ll suggest them but you are always free to have your enagement photos taken anyplace you like).

Kathryn and Alex are getting married at the Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center on the Chesapeake Bay. Their wedding is in September which will be a great time of year for a beach wedding. This is going to be a fun one! He’s 6 foot 10 and she’s 5 foot 4!

Spirit of Norfolk Wedding Photos of Joiceann and Alex

As I predicted, it was a drop dead gorgeous bright blue sky day for the Spirit of Norfolk wedding of Joiceann and Alex! (I had a 50% chance of being right, so in retrospect, not a remarkable prediction but I’ll take it where I can get it!) Some of their Spirit of Norfolk wedding photos are posted below. It was a bit of a crazy day in downtown Norfolk because there was a Half Marathon race going on and a live band right next to the ship at Town Point Park. This made getting to the Spirit of Norfolk a bit of a challenge. I had to walk, with all my gear, around 3/4 of a mile from a parking garage that I could get to since the streets were closed. During the ceremony, along with the planned wedding music, the couple and their guests were treated to an extremely loud and terribly sung cover of a Beastie Boys tune. (that will no doubt forever be burned into the memory of the day for Joyceanne and Alex).

I don’t think anything could really bother this couple. They’re truly about as sweet as they could be. The Spirit of Norfolk wedding cruise was great once we got out of range of that horrible cover band playing the race after party. It WAS a bit of a challenge to get Alex to dance, but he cooperated with his new wife (smart man) and tore it up pretty well! The staff and crew of the ship were great! Very nice people and I’d highly recommend this as a great wedding venue in Norfolk.
